The July 2009 trip took the Kautz Glacier route, an intermediate route that is less traveled. My demise, I believe, was centered on the need for heavier packs (65-70 lbs). Day 1 was fine, but by the 1/3 to 1/2 mark on day 2, it had defeated me and I had to return with my head low in defeat (while throwing up on a few occassions).... Arrrrrrgggggggg!!
