Summit day. We left before sunrise with a trail of head lamps above and below us. An extremely tiring ascent, we finally made it after 4 1/2 hours. From the summit we could see the tip of the Matterhorn as it poked through the cloud layer. A tiring but beautiful climb up the Gouter Ridge. We then descended all the way back to Chamonix.
